QODBC Version 10.0.0.271 Now Available for Download

The latest build of QODBC for use with QuickBooks is now available and can be downloaded free of charge for all registered QODBC version 10 users (registered users of previous editions will be updated to the last version built for their edition). To update your version to the latest build, follow the steps below: 
  1. Click Start > All Programs > QODBC Driver for QuickBooks > QODBC Setup Screen
  2. Click the About tab
  3. Click the "Check Website for Updates" link and follow the web page instructions to update your QODBC software.

QODBC Included in QuickBooks Enterprise Edition

The read-only desktop edition of QODBC is now included as a feature in the QuickBooks Australian Enterprise Edition 2010-2011 products (on the main file menu under Utilities). If you need a read-only edition of QODBC and have this version of QuickBooks, you are ready to go, no purchase required! QODBC is now included in the UK, US, Canadian and Australian QuickBooks Enterprise Editions.

QODBC for QuickBooks Point of Sale

QODBC for QuickBooks Point of Sale version 9.0 is now in its final beta stage before release. The Read Only edition of this driver will allow applications to extract the QuickBooks POS data for better reporting and analytics while the Read/Write edition will allow applications such as MS Access, Visual Basic, FileMaker Pro, Alpha 5, etc. to push externally stored data into the POS database. QODBC Tech Tips

Problem: I have followed the instructions for the RDS setup to access my QuickBooks data from a remote location, but get the following error:

[QODBC] QB Begin Session Failed. Error = 8004040c, Company file specified is not authorized for remote access

Problem: I have a 64 bit operating system on my machine and I cannot get QODBC to work on it.

Solution: The current version of QODBC is a 32 bit driver, but it will run on a 64 bit operating system as a 32 bit application. See: Tech Tip 2
